THE BAERS
Since the 1970s, video games have evolved and become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Today, they are able to provide a full cinematic experience and quality storytelling to people just as well as well as any movie can. The inspiration for this project came from the idea of creating an award show for video games that held prestige and sophistication similar to the Oscars. The show was called the Baers in honor of Ralph Baer, the “grandfather” of gaming and the inventor of the first video game (Pong). The project consisted of branding the show and creating various title cards and images that would showcase possible nominees and awards for the 2015 awards. The purpose of this project was to develop a system of typographic organization and designs.
